Elora has always been determined. Whenever she puts her mind to something, it gets done. The woman is a workaholic and she knows it; taking to her tomes and research notes daily along with running her business. Elora is, overall, a complete optimist with infectious energy. She tends to make friends easily because of her charismatic and dependable nature. Growing up with the many elders instead of peers her own age, Elora has adapted a very wise perception on life. One of her more prominent flaws is her stubbornness. It is extremely hard for her to accept an opposing opinion. She can be quite resolute about certain subjects. Oftentimes, Elora's curiosity gets the best of her and she must satiate it. This comes on the most when she's visiting somewhere new or out adventuring and collecting new animus. Elora takes a very nurturing role with children and especially the Ydras she creates.

During a stormy night during the more wintry months of Alvoria, in a realm not unlike our own, a baby was mysteriously dropped off at the doorstep of the College of Faelorn. The mages took the baby in and named her Elora. Her surname came from the mage at the academy whom found the child, Victor Vyshaan. From a young age, the mages of Faelorn found that magic definitely ran within her blood. They found that she excelled in mastering many magical incantations that took others months—and sometimes even years—to perfect.
Elora's younger years were filled with curiosity about the mainland as she only left the confines of the island a few times a year to visit Empaea. When she and her guardian did travel, however, the forest of Yggrasa fascinated her and she'd interact with as much fauna as she could. Elora promised herself that, one day, she would move to the mainland and live there if only to be closer to the forest.
As the girl grew, she mastered many magical arts and took to her studies with the elders rather than trying to befriend those her own age. Elora figured that the faster she was able to master whatever magic the elders wished of her, the faster she would be able to get away from Faelorn.
As Elora had predicted, it came to pass. By the time she was twenty-one, she had perfected most magical incantations and begged the elders to let her explore the rest of the world. With reluctance, the elders allowed her to leave the college, as she was now old enough to make her own decisions. She moved to Ivadell into a rather large house provided by the college, just south of the bordering forest. It was there that she spent much of her time in Yggrasa looking for herbs and other reagents that she could use in her alchemical brews.
After a year of paying taxes on her home, the elders of the college sent word that she must begin paying the town taxes on her own. Thus, The Mortar & Pestle was born. She took the front end of her home and turned it into a shop, put out a large sign, and began selling her potions and reagents.
It was then that Elora knew she must go beyond the forest's borders to find different reagents people wanted to buy. She moved on further and found Ilara's Bog. The swampland intrigued her just as the forest had all those years ago. At that time, she mainly traveled straight to the swamp in order to find other reagents she couldn't otherwise find in Yggrasa.
It was on that one fateful day that she came across a run down hovel. Inside had what looked to be a very old piece of parchment and some old tools and what looked to be alchemy supplies. Elora looted everything and on her way back home she read what the parchment had to say. It talked of an old, powerful magic that lay hid away in the darkest recess of the swamp. Her curiosity swept her off of her feet and off she went to look for the darkest place in the swamp.
Days upon days of searching led to nothing. Elora even camped in the swamp a night or two. She hadn't come across any other person, as they were fearful of the legends, but that didn't stop Elora from venturing forth. At last, after a few days of vigorous searching, she came across a small cave. Inside was a glowing cauldron of what looked to be an ever color-changing fire and next to it was a large tome full of writings about it. This was the Lifire.
Returning home with the fire filled cauldron and all of her other goods, Elora took to the book and read about the Lifire and it's power. Something that only fairy tales and legends seemed to tell of. It was then that the experiments began.
At first, Elora began her experiments with the Lifire the same as legend. Taking a twig, she lit it on fire and threw it into the specialized urn that was magically enchanted - just as the tome had suggested be done - and over the course of the day, the twig began to let off smoke and from the smoke a small seedling grew. It amazed Elora. Everything about this fire was fascinating. She studied it, day and night, in the comfort of her home.
From there, she applied her own magical intellect and one day, the Lifire began producing living beings she called Ydra. After a few experiments, Elora found the right in order to create the first humanoid Ydra; created with gold and cherry blossoms and from there, her studies of the Lifire only grew.
