Passage: The night was cloaked in an oppressive stillness, broken only by the low murmur of voices gathered in secret. Shadows flickered across the faces of those present, their expressions flowing between exhilaration, fear, and grim determination. The leader stood at the center, their voice cutting through the silence like a blade.

Idea: The very first paragraph of Aetherealm is what I would love to have illustrated for the prologue. A cloaked leader (nothing with too much detail as to tell who they are) standing in the center of a small clearing within a forest, surrounded by other cloaked figures holding torches to light the area in the dead of night, the moon and stars overhead. All of this is sort of farther away from the camera to give a more ‘overarching’ view of Evermyst Grove in the dead of night.

Passage: Ryder stood and moved to the window, gazing out at the ocean. The sky was painted in deep golds, pinks, and oranges as the sun dipped lower. The water shimmered in the fading light, and far in the distance, he noticed a thin, iridescent band on the horizon, shifting like liquid rainbows.

As the sun continued to set, the mist rolled in, thick and ghostly, pulsing with strange colors beneath the growing darkness.

Idea: I would love to see the ocean landscape through a window. The house is on a dock, so out of the window maybe some medieval fantasy style boats. And seeing the painted sky and the iridescent band at the horizon that becomes a thick rainbow-iridescent fog rolling in at sun set. The fog I would love to be reminiscent of these images here, Ryder’s essence and the map illustration. Lots of rainbow colors in the clouds. Mesmerizing to look at but also full of thick white/gray clouds that are very ominous.
