There are many elemental magics found within Aetherealm. This page is dedicated to exploring that magic.
Spoilers ahead.
Aethermancy
Aethermancy is the foundational magic of Aetherealm—woven into the very fabric of existence. All other forms of magic trace their roots back to it, whether consciously wielded or unconsciously drawn upon. Every Aetherean uses aethermancy to some degree, but true mastery requires unwavering dedication: long hours spent studying ancient aetheric tomes and unraveling the mysteries of the arcane. Those who delve deep into the art can unlock powerful spells such as telepathy and rifting. To know aethermancy is to hold the key to reality’s hidden threads.
True mastery of aethermancy belongs solely to Arcaenion, Ryder, Oberon, and Vaelric. Though many Aethereans channel fragments of its power to enhance their elemental weaving, few ever glimpse the true depth of what aethermancy can provide.
Floramancy
Floramancy is the magic of nature—rooted in growth and a shared oneness with all. It was first awakened through Aman, whose freedom through the glades of Aetherealm sparked the earliest expression of this magic. As their bond with the land deepened, so too did their ability to guide and shape the flora around them, giving rise to what would become floramancy.
Drawing power from nearby plant life, floramancers can summon vines, bloom healing petals, or release spores to poison. The art is strongly tied to the Ysali Dovaa, who focus on nurturing allies and withering enemies alike.
While most surviving tomes emphasize healing, ancient texts speak of deeper manipulation—using roots, thorns, and decay as tools of control. Often overlooked in battle, floramancy thrives through patience and adaptability. In the hands of a master, nature becomes not only a source of life, but a quiet and deadly force.
Aeromancy
Aeromancy is the magic of wind—subtle, swift, and unrelenting. Those who master it learn to manipulate air with precision and power. The Ayrala Dovaa are its greatest exemplars, known for bending the skies to their will.
With aeromancy, a well-timed gust can knock an enemy off balance, hurl them across the field, or—if you’re bold enough—pull them directly into your grasp. Skilled practitioners can conjure razor-thin waves of compressed air, capable of slicing through even the toughest defenses. Whether used for offense, defense, or evasion, the wind answers to those who command it.
Electrumancy
Electrumancy is the volatile magic of electricity—fast, fierce, and dangerously precise. Used by the Kiandri Dovaa, this discipline requires focused control and an instinctive understanding of energy in motion.
Electrumancers channel electrically charged plasma to shock, disrupt, and destabilize their foes. Arcs of lightning can leap across the battlefield, striking multiple enemies in a flash, while other techniques allow them to harness raw current in close combat. Some advanced practitioners are even able to boost agility and reflexes, moving with uncanny speed.
To wield electrumancy is to hold a storm in your hands—and know when to let it strike.
Pyromancy
Pyromancy is the art of flame—unrelenting, volatile, and beautifully destructive. It is rooted in the bloodline of the Firani Dovaa, who wield fire not just as a weapon, but as an expression of freedom.
This fiercely offensive magic allows its practitioners to unleash spells such as Fireball, Fire Spin, Flamethrower, and the legendary Phoenix Rising. While exhilarating to command, fire is a force that must be respected—left unchecked, its devastation can consume everything in its path. As the pyromancers of old once said, “True mastery lies not in the blaze itself, but in knowing when to let it burn.”
The most destructive spells in all of Aetherealm often stem from this scorching discipline.
Hydromancy
Hydromancy is the art of water—fluid, balanced, and deeply attuned to both offense and restoration. The Peisio Dovaa are revered as masters of this craft, known for their graceful control over tides and their powerful healing abilities.
Hydromancers can summon crashing waves, form whips of water to strike foes, or mend wounds with soothing, flowing energy. The most skilled among them have learned to draw moisture directly from the air, ensuring they are never without a source. Though less aggressive than other forms of elemental magic, hydromancy is prized for its versatility and control—capable of overwhelming force or life-saving precision when needed most.
Cryomancy
Cryomancy is the elemental art of ice magic. Rooted in the ancient bloodline of the Aiskala Dovaa, cryomancers command the cold, freezing water in an instant and shaping it to their will.
While often viewed as a defensive discipline, practitioners can form shields of hardened frost, encase enemies in ice, or fire concentrated beams of freezing energy from their hands, feet, or even their breath. A skilled cryomancer doesn’t just block attacks—they stop them before they begin. After all, freezing an opponent in place is one of the most efficient ways to win a battle.
Terramancy
Terramancy is the elemental art of shaping the land itself—commanding stone, soil, and sediment with one’s will. Terramancers can summon walls of rock for protection, hurl boulders with brute force, or harden their skin like stone to withstand the fiercest blows. Among the most adept are the Gaili Dovaa, whose deep connection to the earth grants them unparalleled mastery in defensive weaving.
Often hailed as the most resilient of all magical disciplines, terramancy excels in protection and endurance. Legends speak of master earth weavers who, through years of relentless training, have extended their reach beyond stone—learning to bend metals and shape ore as easily as clay.
Solamancy
Solamancy is the magic of light—radiant and restorative. It is the favored discipline of Oberon, the Grand Luminary, and draws its parallels from the luminous Aedaun Dovaa.
Solamancers, although rare, are skilled in both healing and protection, conjuring radiant barriers and mending even the deepest wounds. Solamancy also serves as a powerful defense—blinding enemies, disrupting their focus in order to turn the tide of battle. At its most potent, solamancy can release concentrated beams of light strong enough to cut through the toughest of surfaces.
Beyond combat, solamancers are known for their energizing presence. Light not only heals the body—it invigorates the spirit.
Umbramancy
Umbramancy is the manipulation of shadow—subtle and consuming. It is a favored discipline of Vaelric and his loyal Forgotten, who have studied its darker depths through the legacy of the Diabi Dovaa.
This form of magic saps energy from its surroundings, allowing skilled users to drain aether from others and twist the battlefield in their favor. Umbramancers command the darkness around them—casting shadow orbs, cloaking themselves, or merging with the void to strike unseen. Often feared, shadow magic is not merely destructive—it can also empower its wielder, amplifying their strength through stolen light.
Chronomancy
Chronomancy is the forbidden magic of time itself. Unlike all other disciplines, it cannot be learned—only Ryder possesses the innate ability to rift into the past utilizing the Map of Everwhen. Elusive and dangerous, chronomancy allows him to revisit key moments within his own subconscious and the realm beyond, though not without consequence.
