Reuben is a kind-hearted soul who finds positivity in almost any situation. Honest and unafraid to speak his mind, he tells the truth, even when it may be difficult for others to hear. While he can be stubborn, he’s also humble enough to admit when he’s wrong if proven so. Reuben feels most at peace in nature, whether he’s wandering the woods or relaxing by the beach, always finding joy in the outdoors. When inside, he spends his solitary hours reading tarot, studying herbalism, and crafting herbal remedies for his shop.
Reuben has a strong independent streak, preferring to march to the beat of his own drum. He doesn’t care much for unsolicited advice or opinions, though he’s open to learning when he actively seeks answers. A firm believer in karma, he strives to be kind to others, trusting that his good deeds will return to him in time.

Reuben Rothmore was born on July 25th to Peter and Rubi Rothmore, with an older brother, Pete. Raised in a deeply conservative family, church attendance was a regular part of their lives—Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. From an early age, Reuben felt a disconnect between the strict values he was taught and his own inner beliefs. While his brother spent time indoors with video games, Reuben found solace in nature, feeling a spiritual connection to the outdoors and often spending time among the plants his mother grew in their backyard.
As he grew older, Reuben began to understand that his differences ran deeper. By the time he reached his teenage years, he realized that not only was he gay, but his feelings toward religion didn’t align with his family’s faith. At fifteen, he began exploring these feelings further, seeking answers on his own. A pivotal moment came when a friend he met at the local library gifted him his first tarot deck—an original Rider-Waite. This sparked his fascination with tarot, and he spent countless hours studying the cards, which in turn led him to explore other spiritual and religious practices.
Through these studies, Reuben discovered a sense of freedom he had never known before. He immersed himself in tarot and herbalism, secretly taking courses in both, all while keeping his newfound interests hidden from his family. Over time, he began to identify as a mundane earth witch—one who practices witchcraft through the use of knowledge, tarot, and herbalism without possessing inherent magical abilities like others in.
At twenty-one, Reuben decided it was time to embrace his true self and came out to his family. Unfortunately, they rejected him, forcing him to leave home. He moved to the Bay Area of California with his best friend, Calista Khova, a real witch, where he found work at a local market and continued to deepen his understanding of herbalism.
After saving enough money, Reuben purchased an estate just outside of Oakdale, California and transformed it into the base for his new venture, The Mystic Herb. The shop became known for its custom herbal infusions, spells, poppets, and a variety of metaphysical merchandise. Additionally, Reuben offers tarot, oracle, and rune readings to his clients. Over time, his business flourished, allowing him to live comfortably and fully embrace the life he had always dreamed of.
